L'édition des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques se déroule en France du 26 juillet au 11 août 2024. Il s’agit non seulement d’une opportunité pour soutenir les athlètes hongkongais et tricolores, mais également de mettre en avant la langue de Molière auprès d'un public international. Bien que l’anglais soit la langue de référence dans de nombreuses organisations, l’Olympisme est régi par la langue de Molière. Quelles sont les origines de cette présence linguistique importante ?
Mais avant d’être une terre de champions et d’accueil pour le pinacle des compétitions sportives, rappelons-nous du rôle joué par la France dans l’histoire de l'Olympisme, faisant ainsi du français la langue officielle des Jeux.
新一屆奧運會和殘奧會將於2024年7月26日至8月11日在法國隆重舉行。我們不僅可以藉此機會支持香港和法國的運動員,而且還可以向世界各地的人們宣揚莫里哀的語言——法語。儘管英語是許多組織的參考語言,但奧林匹克主義的首要語言卻是法語。當中原因究竟是什麼?
在1900年和1924年,巴黎舉辦了現代的夏季奧運會。法國成為了雲集傑出運動員的土地和奧運主辦國。在此以前,法國已在奧林匹克主義的歷史中扮演著舉足輕重的角色,並使法語成為奧運會的官方語言。
L’héritage français dans l'Olympisme
Si les Jeux Olympiques ont été créés en Grèce antique, la France a joué un grand rôle dans le rétablissement moderne de cette tradition
sportive. Avant même les premiers Jeux de l'ère moderne à Athènes en 1896, la France était déjà à l'initiative d'une compétition
sportive appelée l’Olympiade de la République à la fin du XVIIIe siècle.
D’autres pays ont été inspirés, faisant de même avec les Jeux Scandinaves, les Jeux Olympiques Britanniques ou encore les Jeux
Olympiques de Záppas (Grèce). Mais quelques dizaines d'années plus tard, c’est de nouveau un Français qui développait cet idéal
sportif international nommé Mouvement olympique : le Baron Pierre de Coubertin.
S'il est à l’initiative du Comité International Olympique (CIO), qu'il a présidé pendant 29 ans à partir de 1896, et des Jeux Olympiques de l'ère moderne, il n’est pas le seul Français ou francophone à s’être investi dans cette organisation fédérale. C’est notamment ce qui justifie encore aujourd'hui la place prépondérante du français au cœur des Jeux. Parmi les autres grands acteurs à s’être investis dans le développement du CIO, figurent également Jules Rimet, Louis Magnus, Frantz Reichel ou encore Albert Feyerik, tous francophones. C’est la raison pour laquelle la langue officielle du CIO est le français, et celle qui justifie sa position préférentielle encore aujourd’hui dans la sphère sportive.

法國與奧林匹克主義
古希臘是奧運會的發源地,而對於在現代復辦的奧運會,法國卻扮演著極為重要的角色。早在1896年的雅典第一屆現代奧運會之前,法國便於18世紀末舉辦了共和國奧運會(Olympiade de la République)。
其他國家也相繼效法,衍生出北歐運動會、英國奧運會或希臘扎帕斯奧運會等。數十年後,一位法國人——皮耶˙德˙顧拜旦男爵(Baron Pierre de Coubertin)提出了名為「奧林匹克運動」的國際體育理想。
他創立了國際奧林匹克委員會,自1896年起擔任該會主席長達29年,並提倡舉辦現代奧運會。此外,其他法國人和法語世界人士亦參與該聯邦組織。由此可見,法語現今在奧運佔據重要地位絕非偶然。一眾參與國際奧委會發展的主要人士包括儒勒˙雷米(Jules Rimet)、Louis Magnus、弗朗茨˙雷謝爾(Frantz Reichel)和Albert Feyerik等,他們均來自法語地區。正因如此,法語成為了國際奧委會的官方語言,時至今日依然在體育領域有著優先地位。
Inscrit dans la Charte olympique, le français a su conserver sa place de langue officielle du CIO, même après le décès en 1937 du Baron de Coubertin et la seconde guerre mondiale. Si l’anglais a rejoint le français comme langue officielle en 1972, le français garde une position prépondérante, selon l'article 23 de la Charte olympique intitulé Langues :
Cette présence linguistique renforce les liens historiques et culturels entre la France et le mouvement olympique mondial, tout en
contribuant au rayonnement et au prestige de la langue française. De plus, le siège du CIO est installé à Lausanne, au cœur de la Suisse
francophone. L’importance de la langue française se retrouve également dans le lexique de certaines disciplines historiquement
françaises, comme l’escrime. Avant chaque point disputé, l'arbitre prononce « en garde, prêts, allez » en français pour signifier aux
tireurs qu'ils peuvent s'élancer. Par ailleurs, à chaque édition des Jeux Olympiques depuis Athènes 2004, l’INSEP (Institut
national du sport, de l'expertise et de la performance, qui se trouve à Paris) s’attache à développer un glossaire avec les
terminologies sportives des différentes disciplines en anglais et en français, qui est également traduit dans la langue du pays
d’accueil.
Les Jeux Olympiques de 2024 mettent donc en lumière l’importance de la langue française dans le cadre d’un événement mondial
majeur. Aussi pouvons-nous parler, dans le cadre des JO, d’un véritable tremplin pour la francophonie sportive et pour les
athlètes francophones venus de différents horizons. Les Jeux Olympiques de 2024 à

servent de vitrine à la richesse de la francophonie et à la diversité culturelle des pays qui partagent le français.
即使在顧拜旦男爵於1937年離世和第二次世界大戰過後,根據《奧林匹克憲章》規定,法語作為國際奧委會官方語言的地位依然不變。於1972年,英語繼法語後成為奧委會官方語言,然而根據《奧林匹克憲章》第23條主題為「語言」的部分規定,法語仍保有主導地位:
1. 國際奧委會官方語言為法語及英語。
2. 大會所有會議必須提供法語、英語、德語、西班牙語、俄語和阿拉伯語的同聲傳譯。
3. 如《奧林匹克憲章》和其他國際奧委會文件的法文和英文版本間存在分歧,則除另有明確書面規定外,均以法文版為準。
法語在此的重要地位,加強了法國與全球奧林匹克運動之間的歷史和文化聯繫,同時讓法語的影響力和聲望得到提升。此外,國際奧委會總部亦設於瑞士法語區中心的洛桑。
法語的重要性也體現在某些法國傳統體育項目的詞匯之中,劍擊便是當中一列。每次選手爭取分數前,裁判均會以法語說出「準備,就緒,開始」(en garde, prêts, allez),讓劍擊運動員知道可以開始比賽。
另外,自2004年雅典奧運開始,位於巴黎的法國國家體育學院(INSEP,Institut national du sport, de l'expertise et de la performance)會為每一屆奧運制訂不同體育項目的英語及法語術語表,並將其翻譯成主辦國的語言。
即將在巴黎舉辦的2024年度奧運會彰顯了法語在大型全球活動中的重要性。換句話說,新一屆奧運會將是法語體育界和各領域的法語世界運動員的舞臺。法語世界國家將於2024年巴黎奧運會展現其豐富多樣的文化。法語世界的多元價值,將透過開幕和閉幕典禮、相關文化活動,以及運動員、官方人員和觀眾之間的互動而得以展現。
