This event, held at the AF Library in Jordan Centre on Wednesday, 30 September, will give you the opportunity to discover the extraordinary journey of Zhang Daqian (1899-1983), one of the most celebrated Chinese painters of the 20th century. Often nicknamed "the Picasso of the East," explore Zhang Daqian's contemporary legacy, with his works continuing to break records in international auction houses. Mark O'Neill will share behind-the-scenes insights from his research and highlight memorable anecdotes from the life of this prolific artist, including his historic meeting with Pablo Picasso in Paris in 1956—an event symbolising the artistic dialogue between East and West.
