HKDSE French Exam : DELF A2 

Candidates shall take DELF  within the two years preceding the HKDSE they sit, i.e. for 2025 HKDSE candidates shall take DELF  in 2023 and 2024, and complete the examination by the end of 2024. 

There is no grade conversion between DELF  and HKDSE. Candidates’ DELF results would be written directly on their HKDSE certificate. It's a score of 100. 

Yes. You may take more than one DELF examination during the two years preceding the HKDSE you sit. Only the highest language proficiency level and result attained will be reported for HKDSE, i.e. if you take both the A2 and B1 level examination, the result of B1 exam, the highest language proficiency level you have taken, would be reported. 

DELF and DALF examination is crucial in applying to universities in France. The requirement for university entry in France is generally level B2 or above, according to the curriculum. 

Alliance Française de Hong Kong suggests 120 hour for Level A1 and 270 learning hours for A2 level. However, the learning hours depend on student : motivation, skills, studies, personal background, including mother tongue and other language proficiency.

As DELF and DALF are French language examinations for all four language skills, continuous practising in our regular courses is crucial. In Alliance Française de Hong Kong, French courses at different levels and language workshops on exam preparation are held throughout the year.

You may also subscribe to PrepMyFuture practice kit to improve your examination skills with over 1,000 exercises. However, PrepMyFuture is currently only available for levels B1 and B2.
