French May Arts Festival 2024:
Notre–Dame (Re)births
Exactly 5 years after the fire that partially ravaged the Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, Alliance française de Hong Kong and CityU unveil (Re)births, a spectacular multimedia exhibition on the construction and successive restorations of one of the most iconic symbols of France throughout the centuries.
(Re)births presents the history of Notre-Dame through several medium including a 3D model, Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), videos, photographs, and unique architectural exploratory works designed by CityU’s students. From the first stone to the renovation site, come and discover the cathedral, which became one of the symbols of France through the centuries.
The VR station will be open for public from 10:00 - 12:00, and 14:30-16:30.
The showcase will be accompanied by a series of talks by experts, supported by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau.

"Notre-Dame de Paris : vers la réouverture" is a label coordinated by the Etablissement public chargé de la conservation et de la restauration de la cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris, which brings together cultural events, exhibitions and conferences devoted to Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral during its restoration and in anticipation of its reopening, scheduled for December 2024.
