Alliance Française has been dedicated in promoting French culture through its wide array of cultural activities, ranging from Cinéma
to theatre, and from concerts to exhibitions.
AFHK has been organizing La Fête de la Musique since 1984. The very first editions took place on the trams. In
2018, La Fête de la Musique has evolved to become a three-day music festival and rebranded as Make Music Hong Kong. The
first edition of Make Music, Hong Kong took place at the signature venue, Tai Kwun, and welcomed over 30 local and
international bands to perform at the festival. It is truly a music festival for all, attracting more than 3000 visitors in 3 days.
In 2000, AFHK launched Francophonie festival, a joint initiative between French-speaking countries in Hong Kong. It now
presents dozens of events every year during the month of March to celebrate Francophonie festival. With its rich and dedicated cultural
activities throughout 7 decades, AFHK has built a solid arts and cultural community in Hong Kong. It's a strong community consisting of
French and locals who share common interests in French cultural events.
