Comics = la bande déssinée = la BD

Literally "drawn strips" in French, la BD refers to comics originated in France and French-speaking countries. They are considered as the "ninth art" (le neuvième art) in Francophone scholarship.

There are certain comic characters, now cultural icons, that one who learns French must know! And in this workshop and with our quizlet, you will get to know them one by one.  

Apart from the scavenger hunt centering on the quizlet, young participants will take part in diverse creative activities - from creating their own characters and story to making these characters come alive in animations by way of an innovative digital platform!

The whole workshop will take place in the AF Library where we have more than 1000 titles of French comics. What better way to learn about BD while being surrounded by tons of BD?
