Humble beginning
Born in a small village in Savoie to becoming one of the most influential fashion designers of the 20th century - the story of Pierre Balmain is truly inspiring. Despite facing adversity at an early age, his passion and determination to pursue a career in fashion enabled him to overcome his struggles and achieve great success. His father passing away when he was only 7 years old, leaving him with nothing but a chest of theatrical costumes, Pierre never gave up. When he was 20, his dreams became reality when he became a junior designer for Edward Molyneux, one of the most renowned couturiers of the time.
