Cultural Projects Officer


We are looking for an energetic and proactive professional to join Alliance Française de Hong Kong as a Cultural Projects Officer.

The Cultural Projects Officer provides support to the cultural department by assisting the organisation and coordination of French cultural events of the Alliance Française de Hong Kong including French Speaking world festival in March, French May in May & June, Make Music Hong Kong! music festival in June, the Hong Kong French Film Festival in November/December, and various visual arts projects and conferences throughout the year.

 

  • Full-time position
  • Working location: Wan Chai
  • Office hours: 9:30am-6pm, 5 days a week, on duty for events days, on weekends and evenings (compensation leaves for events duty)
  • 14 leaves per year, health insurance (inc. dental), MPF, occasional invitations to VIP events


Job duties:

  • Support the team on AFHK’s cultural events organisation: Hong Kong French Film Festival, Francophonie Festival, Make Music Hong Kong, and performing arts events co-presented with the French May cultural association:
  • Assist on either front-of-house or backstage tasks on show days (special screenings, concerts, exhibitions, etc.).
  • Assist on occasional technical equipment and facilities sourcing if needed.
  • Prepare Chinese/English translations for events-related documents.
  • Assist on daily cultural and communication administrative tasks.
  • Prepare reports after main events (frequentation, photos, feedback).
  • Ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

 

Profile and skills required

  • Hong Kong Resident
  • Advanced studies or university degree in a related field
  • Strong interest in the cultural and artistic sectors, in French culture as well
  • Flexibility and availability (occasional time constraints on evenings and weekends during festivals and events)
  • Interpersonal skills and teamwork, curiosity and dynamism proactive and motivated personality
  • Rigor in the work due to the diversity of activities (organisation, logistics, technical, communication)
  • Good use of office tools
  • Previous experience in a similar position would be a plus
  • Fluent in Cantonese and English (written and spoken), good command of French
  • Knowledge of Mandarin and Hong Kong cultural network would be a plus
