A talk with graphic artist Justin Chiu-Tat Wong

  • Friday February 1, 2019

We have invited renowned Hong Kong graphic artist Justin Chiu-Tat Wong(黃照達) to come and talk about his work, in honour of his graphic novel Lonely Planet having just been translated into French (Je préférerais ne pas, 2018). This humorous book tells the story of Butt, a quirky Hong Kong man in his thirties who has just lost his job. In a quest to find a balance between work and idleness, he gets up to all kinds of harebrained experiments and tries to redefine the role work has to play in the life of a young professional living in an overworked, international city.

Justin Wong received his BA (Fine Arts) in Chinese University of Hong Kong and his MA (Interactive Digital Media) at in London. Upon his return to Hong Kong, he taught in the School of Creative Media in City University of Hong Kong. Throughout the years, Justin has been working in various media. His works includes comics, animation, design, illustration and interactive multimedia. His illustration and design works are published regularly in local newspapers and magazines.
